After having worked with New York magazine’s Pulitzer-winning art critic Jerry Saltz on more than one occasion, I quickly learned he shined brightest when talking art with others. When I pitched this I not only wanted to help bring art to everyday New Yorkers, I also wanted Jerry out of museums and on the streets, with real people — not just standing in front of a painting. After some careful production coordination for shooting in NYC’s subways, “The Big Picture” was born.
